Hot on the heels of fashion month for the F/W 23 collections, we're steeping in conversations about everything that unfolded on the runways: The buzziest shows and looks, the street style outfits we're still thinking about, and naturally, the trends we're planning to add to our personal wardrobes. While the exact pieces from the collections won't be arriving until fall, we're taking inspiration from runways and incorporating some key trends into our closets right now.

If you're an early adopter who is interested in test-driving fashion from the next season now, here, get a look at the standout trends our editors are shopping for first. From the color of the season to the new take on suiting to the affordable accessory that is already going viral, these are the trends that feel fresh and ready to wear. Ahead are the seven best fall 2023 trends to start wearing now, according to Who What Wear editors—beginning with the one that is topping my personal shopping list.

The momentum for '90s fashion is continuing strong in the F/W 23 collections. Designs ranging from minimal minidresses at Rokh to slinky mesh pieces with floral appliqués at Miu Miu to tailored leather trench coats at Chloé all look like they could have been found in Kate Moss's closet several decades ago, but feel just as relevant now.

"I'll admit I consistently lean into neutrals in my day-to-day, but there's something about a bold red (spotted on the runways of Ferragamo, Proenza Schouler, and The Row) that feels so right. The beauty of this trend is that it's easy to incorporate into a wardrobe, whether you want to dip your toe into the look with a red sock or go full out with a gorgeous red coat. I want to go for a red. jacket to team with my favorite camel sweater and light-wash jeans."—Bobby Schuessler

Bottega Veneta; Calvin Luo; Versace

"Considering that my day-to-day style is pretty classic, I couldn't not get behind the 'wearability' trend for F/W 23. As our editors pointed out, pieces that won't just last one trend cycle and will stick with you for years were at the forefront of the shows, and for me, that's the ultimate goal when shopping so I'll definitely be leaning in."—Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour

Victoria Beckham; Gucci; Miu Miu

"Without a shadow of a doubt, my pick would be tights. I'm obsessed with them. From fishnets to classic black sheer and colorful opaque styles, I simply can't get enough of them. For me, it's all about that little touch they add to an outfit that can transform it from a fine combination into something people will remember and talk about. They also pose a fun fashion challenge as we're all slowly getting accustomed to wearing them regularly again. To help kickstart my own hosiery journey, I'm looking to Tory Burch, Victoria Beckham, Gucci, and Miu Miu's fall 2023 collections for inspiration."—Eliza Huber

"If you're like me, you want to look ridiculously expensive. The dramatic drapes that walked multiple runways this past season achieve that ultra-luxury look that I'm after. This trend was first most noticeable to me at the Tove Studio show in London, but once the season wrapped up, I realized it was also a major player at Altuzarra, Blumarine, and Saint Laurent. I'm most excited to shop it for a night out with pointed-toe pumps and an It-bag."—Sierra Mayhew

Schiaparelli; Tory Burch; Saint Laurent

"I'm always very happy when satin comes back around (and history proves that it always does), but it's usually more of a spring thing. That didn't stop designers from sprinkling it all over their F/W 23 collections. Tory Burch, Saint Laurent, and Schiaparelli are just a few of the brands that are leaning into the trend. Luckily for all of us, it's one that's very easy to start wearing now."—Allyson Payer

Bottega Veneta; Versace; Saint Laurent

"While modern updates on suiting always crop up season after season, this fall I'm really excited about the exquisite tailoring, sharp shoulders, and power silhouettes that were all over the runways—from sculpted skirt suits at Versace to power shoulders and sleek pencil skirts at Saint Laurent. It's a powerful look to wear from the boardroom to the bar."—Judith Jones
