8 Things I Saw on the Street Style Set in NYC That Are Suddenly in My Cart
One of the most exciting times of the year in fashion? When the runway shows pick up again. Not only do designers debut their new collections, but the shows also draw the best dressed celebrities, editors, buyers, and influencers, who bring their coolest looks to the street style scene. At New York Fashion Week, I saw a fresh set of looks and trends emerge that will help define what people will wear in the coming months.
So what are the noteworthy street style trends worth shopping now? Insiders wore some of the biggest trends of the season—from edgy leather skirts and flight jackets to ballerina flats and maxi hemlines—in that cool, easy way we always see style unfold on the streets of New York. Ahead, shop the eight major trends I spotted while I was at fashion week that I can't wait to test-drive myself.
Edgy Leather Pieces

Denim Midi Skirts

The shape feels fresh and very versatile for transitional dressing. Style the piece now with a strapless top and heels, then swap in knee-high boots and a sweater for the coming months.

Maxi Lengths

While I predict we'll be seeing floor-sweeping lengths in every form, dresses are a very wearable place to start if you're easing your way into the silhouette.
Layered Denim

Jason JeanAs mentioned above, there is always a lot of great denim in NYC. Aside from midi skirts, we're seeing fashion insiders play with layering. From denim shirts with matching jeans to shackets paired with skirts, there are so many cool ways to style denim-on-denim looks.

Colorful Bags

Ballet Flats
